Team Wellbeing

Studio Countdown values teamwork, but we also strive to respect the individual in every team member. It's in everyone's best interest to allow team members to be open, but also to set their own boundaries. We want to build a safe haven where dreams can come true for every creator.

Our internal values

The following statements are part of what lets us come together as a team while still respecting each other for who we are individually.

It's okay to step back
If you need to take a break, it’s okay. Ideally please let the rest of us know somewhere - but if you can’t or really prefer not to (for example if you’re mourning), it’s perfectly okay not to in most cases. If you can’t work on the project at all anymore, just let the rest of us know. Everyone has their own lives. We won't stop you from living yours.

Deadlines are soft by default
If you can't meet a deadline, let the rest of the team know. Someone else might be able to take over your task and in the worst case we can usually push it back. Our work is based off of passion, but passion shouldn't hold you away from other important things in your life.

We're all on one team
If you need anything or want to say something, we’re here for you. We’re one team and we should always be there for each other (when we can be). At the same time, it's okay to set boundaries and let others know about them. Help others when you can, but take care of yourself too.

Mental health resources

DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING RESOURCES IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. IF YOU BELIEVE YOUR LIFE OR SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE IS AT RISK, CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES (US: 911, UK: 999, EU: 112).

Everyone has their ups and downs, but that doesn't mean it's wrong to seek help when you feel you're suffering.

If you are going through a mental health crisis of any kind (even if you don't think of it as a crisis or "important enough"), we want you to be able to seek help. If the thoughts become overwhelming, your local suicide prevention hotline is a great resource.
