Time really does fly.

On the 30th of December last year, I met a few fellow artists in the CTC webcomic community. And on a whim, I proposed the idea of starting a project to adapt CTC into an animated series. From that point on, we were one team. One team with a crazy idea, an even crazier dream, and a shared passion to keep us going.

We started pre-production in January of 2024 and announced our project to the world with a post that quickly blew up in popularity. Within just a few weeks, our project was getting support from both Velinxi (the original creator of CTC) and thousands of eager fans. I was being flooded with emails from prospective collaborators, and to me it felt like we were on top of the world.

By the time September rolled around, our team had grown from just under half a dozen artists to, well, over a dozen artists. Studio Countdown became a formally registered business and launched its first regional presence in the UK and Ireland: Studio Countdown North. But even with the bureaucratic nightmare of figuring out how corporate taxes work behind us, the core idea of our project and now-somewhat-real company stayed the same: We have a crazy idea, and we’re going to make it happen.

In October, we started ramping up production and released our first official teaser for CTC Animated. Two months later, we’re still working behind the scenes to make this project incredible. And we’re just getting started.
